产品描述
Chlorpromazine is a member of the typical antipsychotic or neuroleptic drug class (also known as first-generation antipsychotics), used to manage and treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, as well as acute psychosis. Chlorpromazine exerts its antipsychotic effect by the post-synaptic blockade at the dopamine D2 receptors in the mesolimbic pathway. Also, chlorpromazine exhibits antiemetic effect by the combined blockade at dopamine D2, histamine H1, and muscarinic M1 receptors in the vomiting center, extending its indications for alleviation of nausea and vomiting. Chlorpromazine is commonly present as the hydrochloride salt in oral and injectable forms, and as the base in the suppositories.
