Z-DEVD-pNA是一种caspase-3的化学显色底物,有较高的细胞通透性。这种底物的序列是基PARP poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase上被caspase-3切割的的氨基酸位点序列DEVD。 Z-DEVD-pNA 也能辨识caspases-1, -4 和 -7。Z-DEVD-pNA的N-末端被 benzyloxycarbonyl (Z) 基团给抑制,从而提高细胞的通透性。Caspase-3的活性可以由分光光度计检测的从底物DEVD-pNA上被切割的游离的pNA的数值来决定(l = 400 nm)。在细胞凋亡的裂解物中,Z-DEVD-pNA 能够用来鉴别和量化caspase-3的活性。
