Matrix protein（3-15） 是一种结构蛋白肽，连接扎伊尔埃博拉病毒的核心与病毒包膜。
埃博拉病毒（EBOV）属于单股负链RNA病毒目丝状病毒家族的成员。是人类和非人灵长类动物中严重出血热的病原体，该病具有高病死率。
基质蛋白（matrix proteins）在病毒基因组复制和转录的调控中的作用，在一些负链RNA病毒中已经明了。最近的研究表明，EBOV、VP40和VP24的基质蛋白能够抑制病毒基因组的复制和转录。
