Ac-VEID-pNA 是一种caspase-6的化学显色底物(Km=30µM; Kcat/Km=168’000 M-1sec-1), 也是其他的一些相似的半胱氨酸蛋白酶的底物。能够识别出lamin A切割位点的氨基酸序列VEID。在凋亡过程中,caspase 6 切割底物并释放pNA, 因此caspase的活性可以通过分光光度计检测pNA来决定(at 405nm, ε=10,500 M-1cm-1). 在凋亡细胞的裂解物中,Ac-VEID-pNA 可以用来鉴定和量化caspase-6 的活性,研究caspase-6 被激活后的下游通路。
