Bone Morphogenetic Protein-6 (BMP-6) belongs to the transforming growth factor-β (TGFβ) superfamily related signaling proteins. Human recombinant BMP-6 produced in E.Coli is a monomeric, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain contains a mixture of multimers, dimer (30 kDa) and monomer (15 kDa). The dimer is an active polypeptide chain containing 2X142 amino acid residues. BMP-6 has been demonstrated to potently induce osteoblast differentiation in a variety of tissues such as eye, heart, kidney, skin, and other tissues.
