DL-threo-2-methylisocitrate sodium是异柠檬酸裂合酶1（ICL1）的底物。
ICL1对threo-D(s)L(s)-isocitrate (ICA)和DL-threo-2-methylisocitrate (MICA)具有双重活性。使用Michaelis-Menten非线性最小二乘法拟合，测定纯化的重组ICL1对threo-D(s)L(s)-isocitrate (ICA)的Km为188 mM，kcat为5.24 s-1。ICL2对MICA的Km大于15 mM，由于MICA的溶解度的限制，Km值太高而不能精确地测定。ICL1对ICA和MICA的催化效率的Kcat/Km分别为2.79 × 104 M-1 s-1和1.74 × 103 M-1 s-1。
