Dihydrocurcumin is generally dissolved in chloroform, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, DMSO and acetone, etc. If possible, please prepare and use the solutions in the same day. If you need to make up stock solutions in advance, we recommend that you store the solution as aliquots in tightly sealed vials at -20℃.
Curcumin [1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione], also called diferuloylmethane, was the main natural polyphenol found in the rhizome ofCurcuma longa(turmeric) and in others Curcuma spp. Curcumin was firstly biotransformed to dihydrocurcumin and tetrahydrocurcumin by reductases and they were then transformed into monoglucuronide conjugates such as dihydrocurcumin-glucuronide and tetrahydrocurcumin-glucuronide by β-glucuronidase . Curcumin hasexihibited high capacity to act against relevant pathologies such as cardiovascular disease, cancer or neurodegenerative disorders .
