The heat shock proteins (Hsp70s) are a family of conserved ubiquitously expressed heat shock proteins. Proteins that have the similar structure exist in all living organisms. The Hsp70s are important to protein folding. The Hsp70s help to protect cells from thermal or oxidative stress. Besides improving overall protein integrity, Hsp70s directly inhibits apoptosis.
