BGC20-761是高亲和性的5-HT6选择性拮抗剂。
5-HT6受体是一种G蛋白偶联受体(GPCR),是5-HT受体的一种亚型,可结合内源性神经递质血清素(5-羟色胺,5-HT)。该蛋白主要在大脑中表达,介导兴奋性神经传递。
在细胞水平,BGC20-761(5-甲氧基-2-苯基-N,N-二甲色胺)可选择性阻断5-HT6。
BGC20-761被用于研究年轻和成年大鼠及人类记忆巩固中药物诱导效应的差异。在年轻小鼠中,使用剂量为5 mg/kg和10 mg/kg i.p的BGC20-761可剂量依赖地逆转剂量为0.4 mg/kg i.p.的可损伤记忆的抗胆碱能药莨菪碱诱发的社会认知缺陷。在成熟大鼠(6月龄)中,对新事物的认知在使用BGC20-761后得到改善。BGC20-761在年轻和成熟大鼠中效果的差异可反映不同年龄范围的记忆巩固状态[1]。
